A full tour of the platform's features, and a complete step-by-step guide to using every one of them.
Fijian families and villages carry generations of connections that are easy to lose track of once people move overseas, marry into other villages, or simply grow apart from day-to-day contact. Noqu-I-Sema (meaning "My Links") gives every Fijian one place to record, discover and stay close to those connections, wherever in the world they are.
Ordered from the features you'll use most, to the smaller touches that round out the experience.
Add your parents, siblings, spouse and children, and watch your tree grow as relatives connect their own branches to yours. Marriages, remarriages and step-relationships are all supported, and relationship labels (Uncle, Cousin, Sister-in-law...) are worked out automatically.
Benefit: a living family record built by everyone, not just one person.
Every Koro has its own page listing Members, Vasu (those whose mother is from the village) and Vakawati (those married into it). Browse by Yasana and Tikina to find any village in Fiji.
Benefit: see exactly who belongs to your Koro, in the terms your elders use.
Your profile carries your photo, bio and details. Granular privacy toggles let you decide exactly what is visible: email, phone, address, birthday, qualifications, even your tree.
Benefit: full control over what the community can see about you.
List and RSVP to village gatherings, celebrations and functions. Share photos afterwards.
Start a fundraiser for a village or family cause and receive donations securely online.
Direct-message any member, or join your village's group chatroom.
Create named photo albums for your village and browse them in a full lightbox view.
One search bar across people, villages, events and fundraisers.
Real-time alerts for tree additions, claims, messages and events.
Earned recognition for joining in, building your tree and supporting causes.
A support ticket system for members, plus a public contact form.
Every feature, explained step by step, from getting started to the smallest settings.
Use Sign In with your email and password. Forgotten your password? Use Forgot Password on the login page to receive a reset link by email.
From your profile page, choose Edit to update your photo, bio, address, phone, date of birth, gender and qualifications at any time.
In your privacy settings, toggle visibility for your email, phone, address, date of birth, qualifications, your family tree, and whether other members can direct-message you. Changes apply immediately.
Your profile keeps a record of members who have viewed it, so you can see who's been checking in.
The family tree viewer shows your connections visually. Relationship labels (Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Sister-in-law and more) are worked out automatically as your tree links up with others. You can edit or update any relative you added, or that is linked to your own account.
If a relative already has a profile that someone else created (for example, a parent added their children before those children joined), that relative can request to adopt the profile when they register or from their account. The person who originally added the profile is notified and must approve or deny the request before the profile becomes linked to the new account.
Use Villages to browse by Yasana (province) and Tikina (district), or search a Koro by name directly. Village pages are publicly viewable; the Members, Vasu and Vakawati tabs require sign-in.
These are worked out automatically from your family tree as you add parents and spouses.
From your village's Gallery section, create a new named album (up to 10 photos each), add photos with optional captions, and browse any gallery in a full-screen lightbox. You can delete photos or entire galleries you created.
Every village has its own group chatroom, open to members of that village only. Find it from your village page or the My Koro link in the navigation once you're signed in.
Search for a member from the Messages section and start a conversation. Direct messages only work if the recipient has allowed them in their privacy settings.
The bell icon in the navigation shows unread notifications for new messages, family tree additions, profile claim requests, badge awards, and event activity. Click any notification to jump straight to it, or view the full list at any time.
The search bar in the navigation looks across people, villages, events and fundraisers at once. Just start typing and pick a suggestion, or press enter for full results.
Signed-in members can open a Support Ticket for account-specific issues and get a direct response. Anyone can also use the Contact form for general questions.
